A naming ceremony is a non-religious alternative to a formal christening. It gives you a personalised, meaningful, opportunity to mark and name your child in front of your loved ones. It can also be used to welcome adopted or stepchildren into a family. Whoever the Naming Ceremony is for, its main intention is to create a space where families and friends can come together in a joyous environment all in the name of this special person.

A celebrant will help you write and arrange your individual ceremony and then lead proceedings on the day. The ceremony will reflect the parents/guardians’ commitment, hopes and dreams for the child. It can include symbolic acts such as hand and foot printing or a rose petal ceremony.
